The day of your scheduled balloon ride, you will meet at the Airbus Balloon Rides office where we will start with a summary of the day’s events and a discussion of the variables associated with your hot air balloon flight. Next, we will load up the Airbus Balloon Rides chase van with all the necessary equipment for a first class trip. Most of the time we will depart from the large field located next to our building. Occasionally, we may need to launch from an area other than this site and a short drive will be required.
Once the balloon is inflated and we are aloft, the flight itself will last about one hour. After landing, we will pack up the balloon and load it into the chase van, a process that usually takes about fifteen to twenty minutes. Then, it’s back to the office where we will unload and have a post flight celebration. If you schedule a morning flight, the festivities will include a toast of Mimosas (champagne and orange juice) and a breakfast of gourmet muffins. If you schedule an afternoon flight, the post-flight celebration will include a toast of champagne accompanied by a snack of cheese and crackers. These celebrations are the second best part of your flying experience (second only to the flight itself)! After the exhilaration of the flight experience, this relaxation time will give you a chance to talk about your flight, get to know the staff, tour our facilities, and choose some unique ballooning memorabilia to take home.
